Action Designer
About
he / him
Terence (TJ) Rotolo’s journey as a stunt performer began in the most unexpected of places: the Classical Stage. Passionate about History and Shakespeare, Terence was often dismayed to see brilliant performances marred by clumsy sword fights. Determined to perfect these crucial moments, he immersed himself in European weapons techniques from ancient Greece to the Napoleonic Wars, complementing his background in Kendo.
In Los Angeles, Terence honed his skills under various weapons experts and fight choreographers. His big break came when he was asked to step in on the action series POWER RANGERS with Alpha Stunts, a top Japanese action team. Over seven seasons, five as a series regular, Terence amassed more experience in fight choreography, wire work, and pyro than many stunt performers achieve in a lifetime.
Few can match Terence’s expertise in crafting and performing physical action that is both thrilling and character-driven. His deep understanding of the “anime style” action has made him a standout, especially among Westerners. A Black Belt in multiple martial arts (Chi Sao, Kali, JKD, Escrima, Silat, Tae Kwon Do, Kendo, Northern ShaoLin), Terence is never more in his element than with a blade in hand, whether on Earth or in a galaxy far, far away.
