Athena Xenidou is a member of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (Emmys). In 2024, she served as a member of the International Emmy Awards Jury and the Drama International Jury alongside Yiorgos Mavropsaridis and Laurent Crouzeix. She also served as President of the Directors Guild of Cyprus from 2023 to 2025 and is a core member of the Declaration of Filmmakers, advocating for authors’ rights and AI regulation in the audiovisual sector at the European Parliament level.

Athena studied English Literature and Music at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. She holds a BA in Film from the University of California, Santa Barbara, an MA in Politics and Media from the University of Nicosia, and trained as a producer at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles.

​Her work as a writer, director, and producer includes award-winning short films such as Dead End, The Made Guy, Tripwire, Saving Joy, and Insidious Invisible. Her feature documentary Unwitnessed Memories won Best Documentary at the Cyprus International Documentary Film Festival and the Gold Jury Award at WorldFest Houston. Among her Greek television credits, she has directed 48 episodes across three drama series, as well as reality shows including Survivor 1 & 2, The Farm, and Celebrity Farm.

In 2023, together with Ronan Le Du, she founded Ray Talent Agency, headquartered in Athens, as well as Ray Films Greece and Cyprus, focusing on internationally driven projects.

Invincibles is Ray’s first feature film, an international co-production which they executive produced. It premiered in November 2025 and achieved strong theatrical success, screening in over 200 cinemas. The film received nominations at the Czech Lion Awards for Ivan Trojan and Hynek Čermák and is launching its festival run beginning with its Official Selection at the Cyprus Film Days International Festival. It has secured a distribution deal with Netflix Europe and is set for global release this year.
