Margarita Zachariou is a professional actress and a graduate of Veaki Drama School, with extensive experience in theatre, film, and television. She has built a strong stage career performing leading and supporting roles in both classical and contemporary repertoire, including Rita in Little Eyolf (directed by Stefan Larsson), Julia in 1984, Antigone in Antigone by Sophokles, and Sally Bowles in Cabaret, among many others. Her work demonstrates a wide emotional and physical range, from psychologically demanding roles to comedic and musical performances.
In film, Margarita has appeared in feature films and short films, including Motherwitch, selected for the Cannes Buyers Showcase and set to have its world premiere in February 2026 at the Rotterdam International Film Festival. Additional film credits include IMAN, Camping – The Final Battle, Fish n’ Chips, and God’s Amnesia.
On television, she has worked extensively with major broadcasters in Cyprus and internationally, appearing in numerous drama series and productions for CyBC, Alpha TV, ANT1, Sigma TV, Mega Channel, and SBS Australian Television, including the award-winning series A Fork in the Road – Mediterranean.
Her work has been recognised with several awards, including the THOC Award for Best Theatrical Adaptation, the Madame Figaro Award for Best Actress of the Year, and the Cinefil Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series.
