Yorgos Mavropsaridis is one of the most innovative film editors of his generation, celebrated for his distinctive style, rhythmic precision, and ability to create tension and dark humor through editing. A key figure in European cinema, he is best known for his long-term collaboration with director Yorgos Lanthimos, having edited all of his feature films—from Kinetta (2005) to the recent Kinds of Kindness (2024). Their critically acclaimed work includes Dogtooth (2009), The Lobster (2015), The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017), The Favourite (2018), and Poor Things (2023).
Mavropsaridis has also brought his editorial mastery to other acclaimed films such as Monos (2019), Chevalier (2015), Park (2016), and She Will (2021). His work has earned multiple accolades, including two Academy Award nominations(The Favourite, Poor Things), two BAFTA nominations, and the ACE Eddie Award for The Favourite.
